How To Get The Very Best From Resveratrol Synthesis Supplements

Resveratrol synthesis can be accomplished by using methyl jasmonate in a cultured grapevine. Resveratrol is found naturally in grapes, and also in red wine which is made from them. Many people choose to eat grapes or drink wine as an alternative to taking a supplement, and there are continual arguments over which is most effective. If you do choose to eat grapes, you must make sure you choose one of the varieties which has a large resveratrol content. Most red wines will give you some benefit, but ones which are grown in a humid region will have the highest concentration of resveratrol.

The uses of resveratrol as a dietary supplement are to halt the aging process, and to protect against degenerative diseases. There is still controversy as to how well these are accomplished. The first real experiments with resveratrol were performed on animals. These animals had extremely short life spans, which was why they were chosen. It was the fastest way to assess the possible effects of resveratrol on life expectancy. The results of these tests were positive, and showed conclusively that animals who had regular doses of resveratrol did age at a slower rate.

These experiments obviously have a limited relevance to human beings, as the animals involved are so different. There is nothing in these results which proves that human beings will derive the same benefits. Nevertheless, it is strongly suggestive of the possibility that they might. Long term trials to prove the effects on humans would be difficult to arrange. Apart from the obvious consideration of time, how would the results be measured? You would never know how quickly the subject would have aged without the supplement.

Shorter experiments have been carried out on human subjects with some fascinating results. When the tests were carried out on animals, one interesting side effect which was observed was that insulin levels were reduced, but cholesterol levels stayed constant. This did not happen when the trial were carried out with human volunteers. In humans, the low density lipoproteins which are a huge health risk were reduced. Equally, the high density lipoprotein levels rose.

These results are conclusive, and prove that taking resveratrol will have a positive effect on cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease. For this to happen, of course, the resveratrol treatment must be seen in isolation, but as part of an overall dietary and fitness plan. Taking a supplement will be a waste of time and money if other chemicals in your intake are fighting with it and rendering it useless. Avoid anything which is directly carcinogenic or which promotes heart disease. Saturated fat should be kept to a minimum and smoking avoided. You will then derive maximum benefit from the supplement gained from resveratrol synthesis.
